Final Fantasy XIV: Live Letter 85 Results

Starting it off, Yoshi-P addressed what’s been on everyone’s mind recently. The players have recently faced some concerns about a third-party program revealing in-depth information about their accounts. Whether you were aware of the problem or not. It had previously been addressed by the man himself on the official forums. It was a light offer to shut the program down or lead to a legal takedown. At this time, they’ve begun to take countermeasures against this third-party program. Which will start in the upcoming 7.2 patch. This is good news for everyone.

Thankfully, we are moving on. They announced the expected release window for Patch 7.2, “Seekers of Eternity.”” There is no absolute date; just look forward to late March. Here are some of the key points of interest that were mentioned.

  • New main story quest that’ll continue from where 7.1 “Crossroads” left off
  • Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures’ will return, following its recent introductory chapter.
  • A new Expert dungeon will be added: ‘The Underkeep’.
  • The next Unreal trial is versus Suzaku in Hells’ Kier.
  • New Cornserverant side quests
  • We got the tease of a new trial, Recollection. It’ll be normal and savage. Other than the Japanese name Zelenia, nothing else was shared.
  • New deep dungeon, The Underkeep
  • New Allied Society quest, that will focus on gathering jobs. This will involve the Mamool Ja
  • A New Allagan tomestone will be added called “Mathematics”.
  • Duty Support will be added for ‘The Sunken Temple of Qarn’ allowing players to attempt the content solo with NPC party members.
  • PvP Series 8 begins, and PvP Series 7 will conclude. PvP actions will be adjusted and several new ones will be added. The Frontline “Secure” map makes a return with various improvements.
  • The next step in the Arcadion raids will be added: ‘Cruiserweight Tier’. Normal will be available, potentially followed a week later by Savage.

In my opinion, this is a huge compilation of our previous extents of past content. From the start of Diadem to our last experience of taking care of a private island. Although you can explore solo, the game encourages working together as gatherers and crafters. From the general appearance, we’ll be building communities on planets. Yes, planets. It’ll start with just the first, which looks to maybe be the moon itself. So, any Loporrit fans, rejoice as we head back to help our friends. And from that point on, we’ll continue to get additional planets in the 7.x releases. We got a little peek at what rewards to look forward to, such as a mech mount and colonizing glam wear.

Field Operation: Occult Crescent

“In the treacherous waters of the Shades Triangle lie the Occult Crescent, an isle shrouded in mystery. Should you wish to unveil its secrets, you must explore the unmapped terrain and battle against the isle’s inhabitants.”

It’ll require level 100 to enter. You’ll gain “knowledge levels” which are similar to prestige levels only available and impactful to this area. It’s nothing generally new to those who dived into previous field operations. These will greatly help you move forward advancing in the area of battle power.

In addition to the knowledge levels, “Phantom Jobs”, are unique jobs. Choosing one of these grants new actions for their main job. They showed Warrior as an example alongside Monk and Bard. Choosing Monk, gave Phantom Kick and Occult Counter coming off as offensive skills. Bard offered Mighty March, a supportive skill. Other phantom jobs shown were: Geomancer, Ranger, Berserker, Time Mage, Chemist, and Cannoneer, with expectations of more.

Yoshida even mentions this is a major way to demonstrate jobs that FFXIV might not ever actually experience in basic play style. It’s great to think that this could be a doorway to see how well these jobs might interact with the style of FFXIV too. We already have a limited job that is Blue Mage and Beastmaster coming soon. I feel like there is potential that both of them might also get some features in this new system.

Additionally, a 48-player raid will be available to challenge.

Weapon Enhancement: Relic weapons

They’ve taken a lot of feedback over the years in regard to the relic weapons. At one point it’d take months to grind out just one relic weapon. Each expansion changed the formula. This past expansion had the least grind I’ve ever experienced. They once again changed it up for us. Have two different options for this grind. Exploring the Occult Crescent or engaging with existing activities. More information will come in the next broadcast. So looking forward to seeing what the options truly are.

  • Starting with the next ‘Little Ladies’ Day’ seasonal event, Scions might appear in the artwork, but they may not appear in the actual event scenario.
