Marvel Rival Rank Mid Season changes

A new announcement coming the following day, is included as an edit down below.

Marvel Rivals is about to reach the half point of its first season. It’s around the corner on the 21st of February. In regard to what is to come and expect, it has been brought to everyone’s attention through the Marvel Rivals Dev Talk Vol.10.

They first offer news about the ending half of season 1. A mention of the two additional new heroes, Human Torch and The Thing, with major balance changes. “These updates are expected to shake up the battlefield during the second half of Season 1. After careful observations and consideration, we have concluded that players’ ranks during the first half of Season 1 are the best indicator of their competitive skills within the season. So, we will be introducing additional rank reset to better align with the upcoming content and changes!

The official cut-off time is February 21, 2025, at 8 (UTC+0) to become Gold rank and above, so you can receive a costume. If you’re inches away, you better hurry towards Grandmasters and above with the top 500 to get a Crest of Honor. These are the incentives set for now and going forward. Feeling good and safe, be prepared for the fallback. When the second half of the season begins, The plan was that you’ll drop four divisions down. This is no longer the case.

Apparently, with hardly 24hrs passing. The dev’s have taken the player feedback to heart and now are backtracking on the earlier mentioned changes.

The date of the first half-season ending hasn’t changed, and you’ll still be given the mentioned rewards. The change that stands out in the entire Dev Talk Vol. 11. Is the big red bold letters, Ranks will not reset. Everything else that has been mentioned will remain in effect. You will still need to meet the required Gold and above, and Grandmaster and above. Plus the top 500’s to receive the rewards. Participating in the 10 competitive matches is still required. I still stand on the hill they were doing well enough to create extra reasons to continue the grind. I suppose the competitive matches help keep that being a factor. This is an interesting standpoint for a new game enabling them to pay attention and want to make sure the player base’s concerns matter.
