After months of rumors, leaks and endless speculation the trailer confirms some of the long-rumored details about the hardware—like a bigger screen and magnetic Joy-Con controllers. When is the Nintendo Switch 2 Coming Out?
The trailer didn’t have a release date, but Nintendo said the Switch 2 will be out in 2025. No price yet but this is the end of the silence about the successor to the 2017 Switch.

One of the biggest surprises in the trailer was the tease of a new Mario Kart game. More details about that and the console itself will be revealed during the Nintendo Direct on April 2, 2025. Based on the timeline it’s likely the console will launch later in the year, maybe just in time for the holidays.

What’s in the Nintendo Switch 2?
Nintendo is pulling out all the stops, building on what made the original Switch so popular while introducing new upgrades. Here’s what we know so far:

Backward Compatibility: The Switch 2 will have physical and digital games from the current Switch so you can bring your favorite games along.

The “Nintendo Switch 2 Experience” demo events will start on April 4 in New York and Paris, with more locations to be announced. The last one announced is in Seoul from May 31 to June 1.

To sign up you need to have a Nintendo Account. Slots will fill up fast so act fast! At the event you’ll get to try the new hardware and play some of the games revealed in the trailer.
