Magic: The Gathering is summoning a Cinematic universe

Magic: The Gathering has been announced to be the next franchise creating its cinematic universe. Hasbro Entertainment has tapped Legendary Entertainment in the first move to summon forth this universe. Where they’ll start the first attack off with a movie. Followed by TV shows. This shouldn’t be much of a shock, since the Netflix series was announced in the fall of last year. However, it’ll be an animated adaptation, no word or mention that it will have any connection to the recent news.

“We pride ourselves on being thoughtful caretakers of singular, beloved IP, and no property better fits that description than MAGIC: THE GATHERING. Alongside the fantastic Hasbro team, we look forward to creating a multimedia universe that thrills long standing fans and creates a broad wave of new ones.”
From Legendary’s Chairman of Worldwide Production, Mary Parent

Wizards of the Coast began Magic: The Gathering in 1993 which became the world’s first trading card game. Hasbro acquired Wizards of the Coast in 1999. From the start to now, it’s still one of the most popular TCGs available. Compelling stories have been told over the years, characters introduced, and of course, numerous strategic outcomes. From fans to first-time players, pretty much anyone and everyone have been able to enjoy. This news is a massive win to a long-running fan-favorite card game.
